As a centre that started as a Seniors Centre in 1985, we’ve evolved into a cornerstone of the Bulimba community, offering something for everyone.

Every week a Justice of the Peace (JP) representative is available to our community offering a range of services, including the witnessing and certification of documents.

The Bulimba Community Market is a boutique market of over 65 market stalls, held monthly in the heart of Bulimba. Join us in supporting our local and regional producers, artisans, bakers, makers and growers. Interested in hiring a stall? Contact us today.

Community Garden

Our community garden group meets every fortnight to cultivate and maintain our community garden, planting vegetables, herbs, through shared gardening activities and sustainable practices. Everyone is welcome to garden and harvest anytime.

Community Hygiene Pantry

Our community hygiene pantry provides individuals currently living in hygiene poverty with the necessities including toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, oral care etc, lending a hand to those who need it most.

Our artwork

The blue community circle represents Bulimba Community Centre itself and the people who make up the community. There are blue flowing waves circulating around this to represent the Brisbane River. In the background are the “Pee Wee” birds footprint as it has a special meaning to the local area. Surrounding the outskirts are multiple red flowering gums which are common throughout and are an integral part to native wildlife and ecosystems.

Cate, our Operations Manager, brings 16+ years of dedication, health sector expertise, jazz flair, and a glass-half-full spirit. Award-winning, warm, and full of laughs—she gets things done!

Bronwyn Glass

Fundraising and Philanthropy Strategy

Bronwyn, our Fundraising and Philanthropy Lead, brings senior leadership across disability, health, wellbeing, and medical sectors—with a heart for community and a head for partnerships. With an interest in social enterprises, she blends experience, passion, and purpose to help sustain what matters most.

Karen Meldrum

Bookings Manager

Karen, Bookings Admin, has 35+ years experience in providing service within the Health and Hospitality areas. Karen loves being organised and a part of the broader community. Karen loves the quote – “when you know better, you do better! Forever learning!”

Steve, a construction GM known for delivering results and is passionate about regenerative agriculture. He’s active at Community Centre and dreams of one day owning mini Highland cows.

Mandy is a seasoned risk and assurance professional with an impressive 25 years of experience under her belt. She is looking forward to utilising her experience to give back to the community.

Paula is a strategist with heart and a deep commitment to working closely with others to build stronger communities.

Glen Vickers

Committee Member

Glen, a venue and event executive with 15+ years of volunteer service, supports safety, compliance, and upkeep at BCC. He and his wife Cate live the mission: Connect, Support, Belong.

Carol Butler

Committe Member

Carol has had a long career in education, working as a Teacher, Principal and University Lecturer. She brings skills in leadership and team building and a commitment to education and inclusivity to her volunteering role.

Kerry Darvall

Committee Member

Kerry feels appreciation for wonderful shared experiences at the Centre and for 10+ years has contributed as a committee member and as one of the coordinators for the Young @ Heart Group and also volunteers for events.

Luke Anderson

Committee Member

Luke brings valuable insight and high-level expertise from his experience with nonprofit boards, sporting committees, risk identification, grant writing, fundraising, and governance. His strategic contributions and collaborative approach will complement our team and add lasting value to our committee’s objectives.
