Donations are now tax deductible
In a significant step forward for local community support, Bulimba Community Centre is now officially recognised as a registered charity with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. This means that all donations of $5 or more made to the Centre are now tax-deductible, encouraging individuals and businesses alike to give back while receiving a financial benefit.
This achievement reflects the Centre’s growing role as a cornerstone of the local area. As a 100% volunteer-run and self-funded organisation, the Centre relies on donations and community support to operate. The new DGR status opens the door to greater financial sustainability, allowing the Centre to expand its offerings and continue to serve the diverse needs of our community.
Funds raised will directly support several key areas:
- Keeping venue hire fees low for not-for-profit and grassroots community groups
- Maintaining and upgrading facilities to ensure they remain safe, accessible, and welcoming
